On the G10 fast train from Shanghai. Leaving at 7am,we should arrive by 11. In the past, these newer fast trains would usually show its passengers the actual current speed. Now, it would seem, that these trains are no longer “fast trains” but merely “trains.

The trip itself will take about as long as a flight, but while the Beijing Airport lies far outside the city’s main interior, the Beijingnan stop is almost downtown, hence much more convenient.

We’ll head directly to the hotel first, then off to Tiananmen Square to show the 6yo birthday boy the main attractions!
