An old, longtime friend of mine and my family, Dudley W. owns a camp off the Conewango River, and has spent a few years cleaning & fixing it up. It’s now also a hangout for fishing & just getting away from downtown on a nice sunny day. One of those days, he invited Cameron and I up for a bit of fishing. PA laws do require a fishing license, unless you’re under 16 or over 64. Because of this, I couldn’t participate, but Dudley & Cam did.
We spent a better part of the afternoon with Dudley, as he gave us a tour of his camp, as well as the surrounding areas. The camp itself used to be owned by another friend of my father’s years ago, and Dudley did a lot of work fixing it up.
Besides the tour, there was the fishing, and on that afternoon, the fish were BITING! In an hour, he managed to catch two chubs, and a bass! All three, we threw back, as we weren’t going to eat them or anything. He was quite excited about his successes and of course looking forward to next summer for another go at the Conewango Creek.
We also learned that Dudley is quite the freestyler, singing to Cameron, making up the lyrics as he sang! It was a great day out! Thanks, Dud!
